Orlando SeaWolves On The Road To Face Kansas City, Milwaukee
Orlando, FL – Coming off a disappointing homestand over the past weekend, the Orlando SeaWolves will head back on the road for one of their toughest trips of the season, having to play the Kansas City Comets on Friday, March 8 and then driving to Milwaukee to face the Wave the next day. Kickoff for the Friday game is set for 8:35 EST, while the Saturday, March 9 game will begin at 2:05 pm EST. Both those matches will also be televised online at masl.tv.
“We’re getting ready,” Head Coach Tom Traxler said after practice on Tuesday. “We’re certainly studying Kansas City since the last time we played them, looked at some of the things we didn’t do so well and try to shore some of those things up.”
The Comets are on the heels of a 7-6 win over the Harrisburg Heat last weekend, with Robert Palmer scoring the game-winning goal with just four minutes left in the game. At 9-7 so far, the Comets are two spots above Orlando in the standings. Leo Gibson remains their leading scorer and one of the league leaders in points with 43. He has scored 21 goals and has 22 assists as well.
The Wave are coming off a 6-2 win over the St. Louis Ambush. Currently, at 15-3, the Wave leads the South Central division and are the second-best team in all of the MASL. Their leading scorer, Ian Bennett, has 31 goals and six assists. Bennett also currently leads the league in goals scored.
After their games this weekend, the SeaWolves come back home for yet another back-to-back pair of fixtures, hosting the Florida Tropics and the KC Comets. Orlando’s game against the Tropics will be on Friday, March 15 at 7:35 PM EST, while the Saturday game hosting the Comets will be at 7:05 PM EST.
