Orlando SeaWolves Re-Sign Goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa

ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to restock their roster by bringing back veteran goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa for the upcoming season. Sliwa will also return to his duties as Assistant Coach for the team. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.

In his five-year MASL career, the Poland-born American returns to Orlando following a season that saw him notch over 100 saves and post a 53% save percentage through 13 games. Injuries hampered the veteran keeper’s impact through his first season on the field, but his presence was felt off the field in his coaching role for the team.

In his career indoor tenure, Sliwa has played in over 75 games, logged over 4,000 minutes and saved over 1,000 shots with five different teams.

In his other coaching roles in the offseason, Sliwa is in his 10th year on the staff at Triton College in Illinois, serving as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s soccer teams, having just become the college’s all-time winningest coach in program history.

“Piotr is a vital piece of the puzzle for the upcoming season,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “If we are going to accomplish our goals in being a top defensive team and competing for a postseason birth we are going to need to be strong in the net. Piotr has a strong grasp on the areas we need to improve upon from last year. I have complete faith that he will elevate his game and will be a key factor in helping us improve all around. I am excited to have him back.”
