PREVIEW: SEAWOLVES HOST METRO STARS SATURDAY

Orlando, FL – The SeaWolves who are coming off two straight home losses look to secure the club’s first Major Arena Soccer League victory as they host the Mississauga Metro Stars on Saturday evening at7:05 p.m. EST at Silver Spurs Arena. The match will be televised online at masl.tv

“We need to get the offense going,” SeaWolves Head Coach Tom Traxler said. “The MetroStars have shown they are a squad who can score goals. We need to get on the scoreboard early. The guys have worked hard in training this week and know that this is a team not to take lightly.” 

To get that offense going the SeaWolves will look to their talented group of midfielders & forwards including Gordy Gurson, Tyler Turner, Luke Boden, Osvaldo Rojas, Lewis Neal, Mario Alvarez, and Luiz Mota. Mota had Orlando’s only goal in last week’s loss to the Baltimore Blast. Gurson finished the 2017-18 season with 30 goals for Cedar  Rapids. 

Mississauga enters the match with a 1-2record, coming off a 12-6 loss to the Kansas City Comets. Former MLS forward Dwayne De Rosario leads the MetroStars offense and enters the game with 4goals and 3 assists. 

Following Saturday’s game, the SeaWolves will prepare for the team’s first road game of the season, a trip to Lakeland to take on in-state rival the Florida Tropics on Saturday, December 29th at 7:05 p.m at the RP Funding Center.

Saturday night’s game is Ugly Sweater & Teddy Bear Toss Night with the SeaWolves. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday sweater and bring a new teddy bear to toss on the field at halftime. The teddy bears will be donated to families in need this holiday season and all fans who participate will receive a voucher good for a free ticket to a March home game. Tickets are still available starting at just$15. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or in person at the Silver Spurs Arena Box Office. Doors will open at 5:55 pm for season ticket holders and 6:05 pm for the general public. There will be $2 draft beers, sodas, and hot dogs at the concession stands from doors open till kickoff.
