Orlando, FL – Following their huge win over the Milwaukee Wave, the Orlando SeaWolves will face a tough test on the weekend, hosting the St. Louis Ambush on Friday night at 7:35, then heading on the road to Utica City FC on Sunday for a 2:00 kick-off. Both matches will be televised online at

“I think everyone’s excited to get started,” Head Coach Tom Traxler said, “It’s felt like the way our season has gone, it’s been more in preseason mode. It’s been a game, then a week off, then a game, then a week off, so we feel like we’re rounding out the preseason and getting ready to start the season.”

Orlando had a number of big performances against the Wave, with defender Richard Schmermund coming up with the eventual game-winning goal off a spectacular free kick. Osvaldo Rojas notched two goals and Gordy Gurson came up with a goal and assist.

The Ambush are coming off an 8-5 loss against Utica City FC on Saturday night. The loss came on the heels of their win on the road on Friday against Kansas City. Their leading scorer Zach Reget has 12 goals on the season.

Utica City is coming off a 9-6 loss against the Kansas City Comets, their third loss of the season. Slavisa Ubiparipovic currently leads the team in goals and assists, with 13 and 10 respectively.

After the Utica City game on Sunday, the SeaWolves will play their next four games on the road, starting with the St. Louis Ambush for the second time in two weeks. That game will be on Saturday, February 2nd. Kickoff for that will be 8:05 p.m EST.
