KISSIMMEE, FL – The Orlando SeaWolves played their second of three games in a week, hosting the St. Louis Ambush, but after a tough match that went down to the last kick of the game, Orlando fell 6-7 to the away team.

“Disappointing,” Head Coach Tom Traxler said after the game. “Any time you drag yourself back into a position to get something out of a game and you don’t, you’re disappointed.”

After a quick start from Orlando with goals from Thiago Freitas and Johnny Mendoza, St. Louis fought back with a goal to open the second quarter to pull it back to 2-1.

Osvaldo Rojas scored his 10th goal of the season to put Orlando up 3-1, but just seconds later, the Ambush responded to cut the lead back to one.

The second half shifted to the visitors, as they scored three goals in the third quarter to take a 3-5 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

Orlando was able to fight back, however. Osvaldo Rojas notched his brace to cut it to a one-goal game, then just a minute later, the Ambush scored again. The SeaWolves then pulled it level with goals from Gordy Gurson and Thiago Freitas tied the game up at six with just minutes to go.

When the game looked like it would head to overtime, the Ambush knocked in the game-winner with five seconds left to crush the hearts of the SeaWolves, with the final score being 6-7.

The SeaWolves will play their next game on the road as they head to Utica City FC on Sunday, January 27th. Kickoff for that game will be at 2:00 p.m EST.
